Community Partner: Logos Preparatory Academy

As a university model school, Logos prepares students to be successful in and out of the classroom after graduation. By their high school years, students are managing time and classes in the way they will at college. They are learning the skills and habits that will shape who they will be as adults. As a parent of a Logos student, Reverb founder, Regina Johnston, saw the incredible need for one of those lifelong habits to be compassion in action. So often, young people hear about the needs of others but aren’t given tangible ways to see and meet those needs.

Logos Prep Academy administrators share the desire for students to connect with and serve their community, They also see the value of developing trust through a longterm partnership. As a Reverb partner school, Logos has committed to serving the students and staff at Armstrong Elementary, a local Title 1 school in nearby Fort Bend ISD. This partnership includes participating in the Reverb Writes pen pal program and supporting events such as the school’s annual Trunk or Treat as well as packing food bags quarterly to address food insecurity concerns.

Reverb’s goal when partnering schools is to hopefully create a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship. Logos Prep Academy is an incredible example of just how much change can reverberate through generations when young people are empowered to see and serve those around them.
