August 2023
Reverb staff met with administrators at Fort Bend ISD and Armstrong Elementary and began gathering items for the “Gator Swamp” - a designated room on campus for items to be distributed as needed.
September 2023
Reverb President, Regina Johnston, spoke to members of the National Honor Society at Logos Prep Academy about Reverb’s mission and the needs of the community around them. Students wrote notes to 5th graders and helped pack over 250 bags for students who experience food disparity over weekends and school holidays.
The resource room officially “opened” at Armstrong to serve students identified by school staff as having a significant need for food, clothing or toiletry items.
October 2023
Reverb staff met with administrators at Fort Bend ISD and Missouri City Middle School. Supplies were stocked in the “Cougar Counselors Care Closet” and immediately began serving students. Later in the month, Logos Prep NHS members volunteered at a Reading and Social Studies themed “Trunk of Treat” at Armstrong Elementary where they engaged young students in games and activities at the school.
November 2023
Logos Prep Academy NHS students provided Thanksgiving meals for 3 families from the Armstrong Elementary community. Students without coats were provided warm outerwear as the weather turned cold.
Reverb donated several fun items to the "store" at Missouri City Middle School where students can earn and redeem points through good behavior.
December 2023
Reverb connected students and staff at Cornerstone Christian Academy with the parent educator at Armstrong Elementary. They collected and delivered Christmas gifts, meals and gift cards to 7 large families. The week before Christmas we were asked to help 4 more families (10 children plus parents) and were blown away by the response. From families at Logos Prep Academy to those who saw the request on Facebook, we received enough donations to give each family member several gifts as well as a new pair of shoes and a new coat for each child. Teens volunteered their time to wrap all of the gifts, and in the end, there were so many donations Reverb had to rent a U-Haul to deliver it all!
January - March 2024
Resource rooms at both schools continued to serve students on a weekly basis.
Middle school students at Cornerstone Christian Academy packed over 200 bags of food for those in need over long weekends and school holidays.
April -July 2024
Resource rooms at both Armstrong Elementary and Missouri City Middle School are well positioned to start the 2024-2025 school year with stocks of the most needed items.
